The Skills for Kids Curriculum was developed by the team and has evolved through conversations with education experts, parents and teachers.

The curriculum consists of approximately 20 hours of instruction and activities. The SFK curriculum kit comes with:
1.Teacher Manual (with clear instructions, notes and tips)
2.Student workbook
3.Charts: Charts are used as visual aids in the SFK curriculum. There are 20 such charts that can be printed in any size and used as teaching aids and props for each of the modules. The two pictures on the top of this page are examples of charts used in the curriculum
What do the modules look like?
The curriculum consists of the following modules:
Introduction : Ice-breakers and introduction to the program.
Healthy Eating : Teaches students to identify healthy foods and group daily foods into food groups.
Opportunity Recognition : Teaches students how to analyze problems and see if they can turn them into opportunities.
Supply and Demand : Brings these basic economics concepts to the classroom through very simple examples and charts. Children are taught to understand basic concepts of how supply and demand play out in their homes and local markets.
Understanding Your Market : Helps students look at who their target market is and how to tap into this base.
Production and Costs : Students understand how things are produced and what goes into making something.
Advertising : Children talk about advertisements they have seen and how these have influenced their opinions. Children create their own advertisements.
Minding My Business : In this business simulation exercise, children take a loan from the Bank and start and run their own mock business. The kids have to buy raw material, hire labour, keep accounts, buy food and supplies and try to break even or make a profit. This is quite a challenge but children consistently point to this as their favourite module.
